Google launch new browser - Google Chrome

Google Launched it’s new browser today, and I made sure I was one of the first to download it and take a look.

The download and installation process is very quick, and worked smoothly first time, with bookmarks being successfully imported from Firefox.

At first glance, the design of the browser appears a lot cleaner than Firefox or IE, and in some respects it appears (in vista) to be more of an integrated application, and less obvious that you are using the internet to get your content.

One annoyance is the new tab page.  This shows thumbnail links of your most visited sites.  Very useful, but I would prefer to be able to define myself which pages it shows here, as Opera does, instead of the page changing depending on my activity.

Clearly the technology behind this browser is more advanced than the others, and I have noticed an increase in speed when accessing most sites.  I’ll leave it up to the more techie minded people to explain to me why this is so.
